Not all examinations consist solely of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Many include subjective, descriptive, essay, diagrammatic, or step-wise solution questions that need human evaluation. Our On-Screen Manual Scoring module (also called e-scoring) allows examiners to mark these answers digitally, seamlessly integrated with the rest of your exam workflow.
Descriptive questions, essays, drawings, derivations or long answers cannot be auto‑scored reliably.
Traditional paper handling, distribution, and manual collection causes delays and risk.
Hybrid exams combining MCQ + subjective parts require a unified system.
Digital evaluation enables tracking, auditing, and better quality control.
With Addmen’s e‑scoring, you can transition from tangible paper scripts to a secure, auditable, and efficient scoring environment.
Candidate Answer Submission / Script Upload
Students may upload their answer scripts (images or PDFs) as part of their exam submission.
In on-site exams, paper scripts are scanned into multipage PDFs using barcodes or optical identifiers, then collated into individual student files.
Examiner Assignment & Mapping
Each subjective script is assigned to a designated examiner.
Examiners see, on screen, the relevant question, reference answer / rubric, and submission side by side.
Rubric / Parameter-Based Scoring
Examiners score across sub‑parameters (e.g. structure, content, presentation).
Partial marks, annotations, comment boxes allowed.
Scores for sub-parameters are aggregated to compute the total for that question.
Navigation & Logging
Full navigation through pages, mark/unmark, skip/back features.
Time logs per page or per question ensure accountability.
Scripts and pages are locked from downloading or printing to preserve confidentiality.
Combining Objective + Subjective Scoring
If an examination includes MCQ sections, they are auto-scored by the system.
Subjective scores are merged into the final score, enabling a hybrid scoring model.
Result Finalization & Analytics
Scores are validated and audited, then published.
Reports can show examiner variances, question difficulty, time spent, and more.
Self-upload or bulk upload of images / PDFs of answer scripts for examiners
Secure mapping of examiners to specific scripts
Side-by-side display: question + answer + marking rubric
Sub-parameter scoring and aggregation
Time logs, navigation logs, audit trails
Protection: printing, downloading, or script manipulation disabled
Multi-branch / multi-center administration
One user, one device per session for secure access
Digital watermarking or imprint on answer pages to avoid tampering
Collation of scanned multi-page scripts into one continuous PDF using barcode or optical identifiers
Integration with your existing exam modules (objective + subjective)
Speed & Efficiency – digitizes and accelerates the evaluation process
Quality & Consistency – rubric-based scoring reduces subjectivity
Transparency & Auditability – full logs and examiner tracking
Unified Platform – no need to juggle multiple systems for MCQ vs subjective evaluation
Scalability – supports large volumes across multiple centers
Security – scripts remain inside a controlled environment without physical movement
Q: Can examiners annotate or comment on student answers?
Yes. The system supports comment fields, highlight tools, and annotations so examiners can provide feedback along with marks.
Q: How are scanned pages merged and aligned?
Scripts are collated into continuous PDFs through barcode / optical identifiers to ensure correct page order.
Q: Is downloading or printing of scripts allowed for examiners?
No. To protect confidentiality, download and print are disabled, and all viewing is within a secure browser environment.
Q: Can the system handle hybrid exams (objective + subjective)?
Yes. Objective sections are auto-scored, while subjective ones go through on-screen manual scoring; final scores are combined.
Q: Does the system support multi‑center or multi-branch setups?
Yes — the module supports administration across branches or exam centers from a central interface.
