Why APIs are rarely used in case of OMR as compared to interface?
Let us first understand the example of SMS server integration where we have to integrate an SMS sending server to our ERP.
Usually the ERP contains the candidate info like Name, Mobile and the data or message to be sent.
SMS server provides an API in which all three inputs are passed and the server attempts to send an SMS as soon as the API call is executed. As a result either the SMS is sent or it is not sent.
If all the parameters are correct, the SMS will be sent, it will return an OK response.
If the number is incorrect the SMS is not sent. If the message is too long or invalid, it is not sent.
If any other reason, if the message is not sent, the API returns a negative response. But it does not open a panel in-between the process to correct the mobile number or correct the length in between the process.
OMR Software works differently. OMR is not processing just 2-3 parameter data, and not just delivering OK or NOTOK response.
If it delivers just OK or NOTOK, then many distorted or faulty sheets will be left unread. It will not be a problem as small as an unsent SMS.
So in case of OMR sheets, the attempt is to read maximum possible sheets. For this OMR has the feature to accept maximum type of distorted or inappropriate images by altering settings. In this way OMR prompts for resolutions in-between the process and based on the responses, maximum cases are resolved. These interactions with the software can be done only through an interface. So API implementation is done only in specific cases in which expected responses are objective.
Can your software put data directly into my system/database?
I hope you would understand the following technical situation,
I got some data, some values after reading a sheet, and I have to DIRECTLY give it to you.
How? Where?
Ofcourse I have to either insert somewhere in your specific database or on a common database.
If I insert in your database directly, I need to know the credential, tables & structure of your database. This would be a custom task for a specific user database and obviously chargeable.
However as a generic solution, our software is able to put data directly into your SQL database in its own table format, from where you can pick it selectively and enter it yourself into your own tables.
Can I have a demo version to check compatibility with my software?
When there is a hand-shaking in two softwares; Software A will provide a generic output which will be selectively used as input by Software B.
Software A cannot put directly into software B , as every Software B has its own database & field structure, which Software A does not know.
Integration will be done by you at Software B level, considering our Product as Software A.
Software A delivers data in generic formats and Software B receives it according to its selective needs and places it wherever needed in whatever version of database and table and fields.
Compatibility starts from our output. So no demo version is required to check compatibility.
We can give you a output file with explanation of fields, which you can use it for testing integration in your system.
