Bulk Transfer of Student Data in ECAS

Efficiently manage student transitions within your institution with ECAS's Bulk Transfer feature. Whether moving students between classes, sections, or updating their status post-examination, this tool streamlines the process, ensuring accuracy and saving valuable administrative time.

How the Interface for Bulk Transfer of Student Data Works

The Bulk Transfer panel in ECAS dynamically adapts to match the fields present in your institution's admission form. This ensures that any field included in the admission form automatically appears in the bulk transfer interface, maintaining consistency and reducing manual errors.
Each field in the Bulk Transfer panel is accompanied by a checkbox. Selecting a checkbox and assigning a value to that field will apply the change to all selected students. If a checkbox is left unselected, the corresponding field remains unaffected, providing a safeguard to prevent unintended modifications.

Example Workflow:

  1. Search and select students from "Section A" and "Section B".

  2. Open the Bulk Transfer panel.

  3. Choose "Section C" from the section dropdown list.

  4. Ensure the checkbox for the section field is checked.

  5. Click "Save" to update the section for all selected students to "Section C".

This process ensures that all selected students are accurately transferred to the new section without affecting other data fields.

Adding Bulk Updating of the Roll No. or Member Registration Code

In certain scenarios, fields like the Roll Number or Member Registration Code are structured based on specific patterns, such as:

When transferring students between courses, it's essential to update their Roll Number or Member Registration Code accordingly. ECAS facilitates this by allowing bulk updates to these fields during the transfer process.

How to Update:

  1. In the Bulk Transfer panel, locate the "Mode" field.
  2. Enter "#" to generate Roll Numbers only for candidates whose current number is blank.
  3. Enter "##" to revise the Member Registration Code for all affected candidates.

This feature ensures that student identifiers remain consistent and accurate across different courses and sections.
